Guiyang rings in National Day holiday with immersive cultural feasts

Guiyang saw a steady rise in tourism during the National Day holiday from Oct 1 to 7, with overnight visitors increasing by 7.9 percent year-on-year and 2.84 million visits recorded across its 47 national A-level scenic spots.

The city hosted over 200 themed events, with special roadside music performances lighting up urban landmarks and commercial hubs like Taiping Road, Zhucheng Square, and Huaguoyuan, and major tourist spots such as Qingyan Ancient Town and Tianhetan Scenic Area featuring interactive historical shows, light art, and outdoor festival programming.

Shopping districts also boosted spending with specialty coffee festivals, craft beer celebrations, and creative art markets, while countryside getaways thrived as towns like Gaopo and Gaozhai hosted autumn harvest feasts, farmers' sports games, folk performances, and fruit-picking tours.
