Guizhou Provincial Museum in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has launched "Romance and Starlight", a highly anticipated exhibition for 2026. Featuring six authentic masterpieces by Claude Monet, the exhibition will run until Oct 10.

Coinciding with the centennial of Monet's passing, this exhibition showcases original oil paintings, including The Artist's Garden at Giverny and Waterloo Bridge, offering visitors a firsthand look at the Impressionist master's genius for capturing the fleeting beauty of nature.

Besides Monet, the exhibition features over 80 authentic works by more than 50 Western art masters. With over half of these paintings making their debut in Southwest China, the collection offers a comprehensive look at the evolution of Western art over the centuries.

Since its opening on July 10, the exhibition has drawn massive daily crowds, with the galleries filled with art enthusiasts, students, and tourists who have traveled from neighboring provinces like Yunnan, Sichuan, and Hunan.

To make the experience visually stunning and fun for all ages, the museum has integrated interactive installations, including a VR tour of Giverny and an AI digital oil painting experience. It is also hosting a series of cultural activities, including art lectures and educational public study tours.
