During the Dragon Boat Festival holiday from June 19 to 21, Guiyang welcomed nearly 400,000 overnight visits, representing an 18.5 percent increase year-on-year. Additionally, the city's 47 A-level tourist attractions drew over 780,000 visits.
The "top 10 new scenic spots of Cool Guiyang" hosted more than 1.2 million visitors. The top three most popular destinations were Pingbu Qingyun (Taiping Road, Qingyun Market, and AYDC Public Art Center), Xinxue Gaodi (Confucius Academy, Yangming Temple, China Yangming Culture Park, and Wanyiwo), and Yuxiu Qianling (Qianlingshan Park).
Guided by its signature "Cool Guiyang" tourism brand, the city rolled out more than 200 cultural and tourism events over the holiday. These activities covered a wide range of offerings, including theatrical performances, intangible cultural heritage experiences, garden parties, culinary markets, and art exhibitions.
The Confucius Academy held immersive script-based games, narrative dance dramas, traditional Chinese costume parades, and free traditional Chinese medicine consultations, while the China Yangming Cultural Park offered interactive activities such as dry-land dragon boat racing.
Meanwhile, the Tianhetan Scenic Area hosted a Dragon Boat Folk Culture Festival, treating visitors to traditional activities like dry-land dragon boating, pitch-pot, archery, herbal sachet making, zongzi-wrapping showcases, and Peking Opera face-changing performances.
The holiday also featured high-energy sporting events. The World Boxing Cup – China 2026 took place at the Guiyang Gymnasium alongside the kickoff of the China Football Association Division B League. Additionally, the Victor Women's Badminton Invitational attracted enthusiasts from across the nation.
