As spring warms the city, Guiyang is ushering in a spectacular season of blossoming flowers. Xiaoshuang – the beloved character inspired by the lively macaques of local Qianling Mountain – takes viewers on a delightful flower-viewing tour of Guiyang.

In springtime, Huaxi district transforms into a blooming paradise, famous for its stunning blossoms.

Gaopo township

As spring gives way to summer, Gaopo is at its most enchanting. Starting in May, vast seas of vervain bloom across the rolling hills in layers of purple, swaying like a rhythmic song and filling the countryside with a uniquely romantic atmosphere.

Driving: Navigate to Gaopo Yunding Flower Sea. It is approximately a one-hour drive from the city center.

Admission: Fees apply to certain sections of the flower fields.

Huaxi Park

In February, the fragrance of plum blossoms drifts through the air; by March, cherry blossoms erupt like rosy clouds and misty sunsets. April brings the elegant, cascading vines of wisteria. The purple-leaf plum also blooms at this time, its deep reddish-purple foliage providing a stunning backdrop for its pale pink blooms.

Shili Hetan Scenic Area

Every March, vast stretches of golden cole flowers unfurl across the wetland park like rolling waves of gold, forming a picturesque landscape against the distant mountains and emerald waters. With bees humming and butterflies fluttering through the air, the entire area is filled with a fresh, sweet floral scent.
