In celebration of the Year of the Horse, the 2026 Guanshanhu Lantern Festival and Temple Fair is set to be held from Feb 10 to March 8 in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
For the first time, the festival has partnered with Sichuan Cultural Industry Investment Group to bring in a top-tier professional team. Together, the two parties have blended Zigong lantern craftsmanship with Guizhou's mountain culture to create nearly 100 sets of lantern art spanning an 80,000-square-meter area.
The event will feature modern installations such as "laser galaxies" and 3D projections, alongside over 20 performance styles including ethnic dances, traditional shows, high-altitude wire acts, and NPC parades. A cast of over 200 performers will deliver 70 shows daily, offering up a 27-day non-stop audiovisual feast.
The festival will undergo a full upgrade in dining, entertainment, and Chinese New Year blessings. Among the 88 food stalls, over 50 percent are from established brands and 30 percent feature local specialties, offering visitors a true taste of festive life.
The glowing amusement park, created alongside professional artists, will feature nearly 20 interactive installations, photo walls, blessing trees, and lantern-riddle corridors. Designed for all ages, the festival will ensure that reunion and joy remain at the heart of the experience.
