Guiyang volunteers shine during 2025 summer escape season

On Aug 10, under the scorching summer heat, volunteer Xiao Li was seen hustling through Guiyangbei Railway Station's waiting hall, helping a couple with their luggage and children to the ticket gate. This heartwarming moment was just one of many from Guiyang's 2025 summer escape season – a volunteer campaign themed "Feel Guiyang's Warmth, Share a Cool Journey".

Since its July launch, the program has deployed "Xiao Guigui" youth volunteer stations across 13 key locations, including Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport, Qianlingshan Park, and Qingyun Road Market.

Over 60 volunteers have clocked nearly 2,000 service hours, assisting more than 170,000 tourists with inquiries, directions, and luggage support. They've also distributed over 9,900 copies of the "Cool Guiyang Travel and Stay Guide", a handbook they compiled.

The volunteers expressed pride in helping tourists in Guiyang. "We're honored to uphold the mission: 'Call Xiao Guigui for help' and showcase the spirit of Guiyang's youth," one shared. Their dedication ensures every interaction is a shining example of Guizhou's hospitality.
