A Greater Bay Area Hong Kong Women Entrepreneurs Association delegation arrived in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on April 3 for a tour focused on integrated culture, tourism and commercial development.
The delegation explored the Xiaolanshan Ecological Digital Cultural Industry Village, gained detailed insights into digital cultural industrial parks and homestays, immersed themselves in Guiyang's picturesque landscapes, and assessed the city's commercial potential.
Following the visit, a culture-tourism investment promotion symposium was held. The Guizhou Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism presented key investment opportunities to the Hong Kong delegates.
Xiong Lie, deputy director of the Guiyang bureau of culture and tourism, outlined Guiyang's competitive advantages in these industries. The head of Xiaolanshan Digital Cultural Industry Village also introduced the village's development framework.
In 2024, Guiyang launched 57 new culture and tourism projects, securing over 4 billion yuan ($547.11 million) in funding. With over 8,200 tourism-related enterprises, the city has broken records in per-capita tourism spending.
Initiatives like the Cherry Blossom Marathon, historic street revitalization, and rural tourism projects have enhanced Guiyang's reputation for health, culture, sightseeing, food, shopping, and travel.
During the symposium, the Hong Kong delegation expressed admiration for Guiyang's natural charm and commercial dynamism, expressing eagerness to deepen education, technology, culture, and fashion collaboration.
