Jiaxiu Pavilion

The Jiaxiu Pavilion, standing over the Nanming River in the center of Guiyang, capital of Guizhou province, is a symbol of the city. In 2006, the State Council listed it as an important heritage site under State protection.

The three-story pavilion is around 20 meters high, has upturned eaves supported by 12 stone columns, and is protected by white carved stone rails. Now in its sixth iteration, the original structure was built in 1598 during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).

Qingyan Ancient Town

Qingyan Ancient Town is a famous historical and cultural town in Guizhou province located in the southern suburb of Guiyang.

The ancient town was built in 1378 and used as a military fort. Through years of modification and repeated restoration, Qingyan Ancient Town has gradually become renowned for its Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) cultural features, attracting numerous domestic and foreign tourists.

Although small, Qingyan Ancient Town has a well-planned architectural style, hundreds of relic sites, and a prominent local culture.

Qianlingshan Park

Opening hours: 7 am – 8 pm

Ticket price: Free for main areas, 2 yuan for Hongfu Temple, 5 yuan for Qianlingshan Zoo

Qianlingshan Park, located in the northwest corner of Guiyang, is the perfect place to enjoy nature and relax. Built in 1957, it is home to over 1,500 species of trees and flowers, and over 1,000 herbs. Hordes of macaques and flocks of birds also make their home there.

Visitors can embrace the beauty of the environment by roaming the lakes, springs, and caves scattered throughout the park, which contains temples, bridges, and a zoo. Its complicated geological structures also make it suitable for geological and species research.
