In Guiyang city and Gui'an New Area of Southwest China's Guizhou province, the 2025 Spring Festival holiday was a time of joyous celebration and cultural immersion, despite the mixed weather and fluctuating temperatures.
From Jan 28 to Feb 4, Guiyang and Gui'an experienced a 13.85-percent increase in tourist arrivals and a 14.66-percent rise in total tourism expenditure. The number of overnight visitors grew 10.42 percent, with the city's 44 key A-level tourist attractions collectively welcoming 2.13 million visits.
Over 150 unique cultural and tourism offerings were organized during the holiday, including lantern shows, folk performances, holiday markets, and intangible cultural heritage experiences.
In Guanshanhu district, the 2025 Guiyang Guanshanhu Lantern Festival and Temple Fair were held, featuring light structures depicting Guiyang's famous nine gates and four pavilions, showcasing a blend of Guiyang's historical culture and modern vibes.
In Huaxi district, the Gaopo Yunding Ski Resort introduced a new intermediate slope and launched the Winter Ice and Snow Experience Season, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in a magical ice and snow world. The number of visitors increased more than 5 percent year-on-year, and the total revenue of the resort saw a staggering 210 percent year-on-year growth.
