Guiyang holds concert to celebrate Chinese New Year

A Chinese New Year concert was hosted by the Guizhou Song and Dance Theater on Jan 31 in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, bringing heartfelt Chinese New Year wishes to the audience.

Conducted by Zhou Xiaodong, resident conductor of the Guizhou Song and Dance Theater's symphony orchestra, the concert began with the familiar notes of the Spring Festival Overture, creating a festive atmosphere for the approaching Chinese New Year.

Nearly 20 seasoned singers from the theater presented a delightful repertoire, including 18 classic Chinese and international compositions.

This annual concert is an artistic feast that allows the local community to build up anticipation for the arrival of the Chinese New Year.
