Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, held a tourism promotion event in Southwest China's Chongqing on July 11, showcasing Guiyang's abundant cultural and tourism attractions and introducing summer activities while inviting the people of Chongqing to experience the coolness of Guiyang.
Guiyang is located at 26 degrees north latitude and has an average altitude of 1,100 meters. In summer, Guiyang's average temperature is 22.3 C, with a relative humidity of 76 percent to 79 percent.
With a forest coverage rate of 55 percent, Guiyang enjoys unique geographical advantages and an excellent climate. It is an ideal summer resort with unique karst landforms that form a magical natural landscape and rich cultural and tourism attractions.
At the promotional event, Lin Ping, vice-mayor of Guiyang, invited the people of Chongqing people to come to Guiyang to escape the summer heat. Guiyang has launched seven preferential policies relating to transportation, including aviation, high-speed rail, entry, highways, car rental, parking, and scenic areas, to provide convenience for visitors during summer.
Hu Lin, director of the Guiyang bureau of culture and tourism, said that Guiyang is attracting more and more young people with its trendy tourism activities. Their arrival will also help Guiyang improve its tourism products and services.
In early July, Guiyang officially launched high-speed trains to Chongqing and Chengdu. Three pairs of direct trains run between Guiyang North Railway Station and Chongqing West Railway Station and Chengdu East Railway Station every day, strengthening the two-hour high-speed railway circle between the three cities, providing convenient transportation options for Guiyang and attracting more tourists from Sichuan and Chongqing.
