The 167,000 mu (11,133.33 hectares) of Guichang kiwi fruit in Xiuwen county, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, have entered harvest season, and kiwi fruit industrial parks in local townships, towns and sub-districts of the county are busy picking kiwi fruit.
This year, due to continued high temperatures and dry weather, the production of Xiuwen kiwi fruit has decreased, with an estimated output of about 55,000 metric tons.
But thanks to ample sunshine, the fruit sugar accumulated faster and the kiwi fruit matured more than 10 days earlier than in previous years, with excellent quality.
Through a combination of online and offline means, the kiwi fruit is currently being sold across the country.
Kiwi fruit is one of the pillar industries of agriculture in Xiuwen. The county's planting area of kiwi fruit ranks first in the province and third in the country.
Xiuwen kiwi fruit has obtained 24 honors, including a geographical indication certification mark and becoming a national geographical indication protection product.
