Locals avoid summer heat in Xiuwen

With the arrival of summer vacation, many locals in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, are gearing up to go rafting, go camping, have barbecues, have picnics and partake in other recreational activities.

In the Taoyuan River Scenic Spot in Xiuwen county, Guiyang, many people have already started braving the rapids.

Taoyuan River rafting became available on May 26. The river is already receiving hundreds of tourists every day, and thousands on weekends.

After July 10, the river is expected to receive 3,000 visitors per day on weekdays and 6,000 per day on weekends.

The scenic spot has also set up nearly 10 tents on the grass next to the river, as they are usually in short supply on weekends.

In addition, at the Scottish Pasture, many people are having barbecues and picnics. The green grass, white clouds and blue sky create some picturesque summer scenery.
