Tourism sees growth in Wudang during break

Wudang district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, was visited 1.08 million times, generating 637 million yuan ($98.99 million) in tourism revenue during the National Day holiday on Oct 1-7, year-on-year increases of 25.6 percent and 25.78 percent, respectively.

Before the holiday, Wudang promoted its cultural and tourist attractions, tourist boutique routes, homestays and food, attracting a large number of tourists.

During the seven-day holiday, Wudang launched a variety of cultural tourism activities, and some scenic spots in the district organized interactive experience activities and launched nearly 20 preferential activities.

The five hot spring scenic spots in the district received a total of 25,200 visits over the seven days and earned an income of 2.57 million yuan. Pianpo township and Xinbao township were visited more than 100,000 and 30,000 times, respectively.

To ensure safety and order during the holiday, Wudang carried out inspections on scenic spots, hotels, cultural and entertainment venues, cafes, and sports venues.

Over the holiday, there were no major disasters or tourists stranded in scenic spots in Wudang. The cultural tourism market was in good order, and social security was strong, with no tourism safety incidents or complaints.
