Xiuwen offers colorful tourism activities over holiday

Xiuwen county in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, was visited 1.01 million times and generated 636 million yuan ($98.79 million) in tourism revenue, year-on-year increases of 18.53 percent and 23.61 percent, respectively, during the recent National Day holiday on Oct 1-7.

Through the launch of a variety of tourism activities, the number of tourists at various attractions increased significantly compared with the same period last year.

The most popular scenic spot in the county during the seven-day holiday was Guizhou Wildlife Park, which received 73,500 tourists, a year-on-year increase of 71.53 percent.

The Yangming Cultural Park held a variety of activities for tourists, including a hanfu parade, throwing pots, and shooting art, and the Taoyuan River Scenic spot held drifting and barbecue activities.

To ensure the safety and order of the tourism market in the county, the Xiuwen cultural and tourism bureau arranged staff members for the on-site inspection of scenic spots in the county starting Oct 1.
