Village in Huaxi develops rural tourism

In recent years, with the help of the construction of beautiful villages, Liuzhuang village in Maiping town, Huaxi district has developed industries and raised its level of economic development.

Huaxi district is located in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

In 2019, the village decided to raise crayfish on an unused marshland in the middle of the village and developed characteristic rural tourism relying on its geography and location at the border of Guiyang and Guian New Area.

Villagers jointly raised 500,000 yuan ($76,949.93) to establish Guiyang Huaxi Liuzhuang Furui Ecological Agriculture Co. They participated in breeding crayfish by means of capital investment or land shares.

When there is a surplus, dividends will be distributed according to the proportion of equity participation.

Three years later, the crayfish pond has begun to take scale. With the formation of lotus pond scenery this year, a village collective restaurant has also opened for business, and industrial effects have begun to take shape.

Liu Wenwu was the first villager to open an agritainment venue in the village. He changed the three-story house facing the street into a restaurant.

He said that this year there are more and more tourists visiting the village, and he plans to expand the restaurant.

Under the overall development of Maiping town, Liuzhuang village has been recommended as a pilot village for rural revitalization and construction.

There are more than 100 households in Liuzhuang village. Many villagers work away from home, and their houses are vacant. According to the plan, these vacant houses will be used for eco-tourism projects.

With the continuous improvement of supporting projects next year, Liuzhuang's rural tourism will bring more enjoyment to tourists, and the crayfish industry will also become a brand that promotes rural revitalization.
