"Since the village first started building Qinqin Garden in 2019, it has undergone significant changes in appearance and has attracted many tourists," said Feng Hongwen, a resident of Qingjiang village, Jiuchang sub-district, Xiuwen county, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
Feng re-decorated his own house and opened his own agritainment venue – Honghui Farm – on July 8. He invited relatives to serve as cooks and waiters, and is responsible for managing and purchasing ingredients.
"Although it's new, business is pretty good. In the past few days, there were three to six tables a day on average, and sometimes there are more than a dozen tables. People call us and order food every day." Feng said.
Due to tourists brought in by Qinqin Garden, Honghui Farm is becoming more and more popular. In order to promote the farm, Feng and his family have turned to the internet and promoted their brand on the Douyin platform.
In addition to operating an agritainment venue, Feng has also started a business breeding local chickens, providing his agritainment venue with original ecological ingredients and helping retain residents.
Covering an area of about 500 mu (33.33 hectares), Qinqin Garden integrates rural leisure, culture, and tourism. It boasts a comprehensive agricultural industrial park, an agricultural theme park, a sightseeing picking park, and a fishing park.
The garden has provided jobs to many local laborers in Qingjiang village. It has increased the incomes of 473 villagers in 153 households by 8,000 yuan ($1,237.41) per person and more than 20,000 yuan per household.
